Video Camera Adapter

Video Camera Adapter, originally uploaded by _Allen_.

This thing turned out even better than I imagined. I'm very pleased with it. I figure I'll leave the video camera mounted there all the time. This way I'll be way more likely to shoot video while I'm shooting stills. Normally when I'm out shooting, stills take priority over video and I end up rarely shooting video ... that is about to change. The only drawback to this system is that all videos now will include lots of shutter clicking sounds from my camera.

Adsolutly stunning video shot with the Canon 5D Mk II

Yes... HD video from a DSLR. Imagine all the lens choices available, fantastic control over focus and depth of field ... all the things you'd expect from a DSLR taking stills but now you can take video as well.

There comes a time...

There comes a time..., originally uploaded by Allen Rockwell.

There comes a time in every young man's life when he needs to get serious about tripods.

For about the last year I have been supporting about $9000 of equipment (600mm f/4L and 1D Mark III) on a $100 monopod and I have to admit that I've nearly dropped this rig more than once, especially when trying to juggle more than one camera. So this week I got serious and bought a tripod and head that are made for this sort of heavy gear.

Gitzo GT-2530 Mountaineer 6X carbon fiber tripod and Wimberly Gimbal Tripod head II.
